On a warm summer day, I would walk over 3 miles from my home in Bombay just to have this traditional Marati mango drink served up by a lovely elderly couple. They squeezed mango pulp and sweetened it with sugar and spices like nutmeg, pepper and cardamom. The joy that made strangers smile and say “this is very fine!” is what we wanted to capture with our Mango Koolfi ice cream. Here the spices carry as much weight as the amazing Alphonso Mango flavor itself.
