During Ramadan, people worldwide often break their fast with dates. This tradition was exactly what the Husain family, childhood friends of our founder Priti, would do each Ramadan. Platters filled with dates, walnuts, and Maamoul shortbread cookies from the Middle East, featuring a date and cinnamon filling are among her cherished memories of the diverse India she was raised in.
We meticulously grind sweet and velvety Medjool dates from SoCal and infuse the cream with cinnamon and orange blossom water. After churning the cream and dates, we delicately fold in chopped NorCal walnuts as a tribute to the warmth and happiness spread by Auntie Husain
